Blessings Nqo & Band
Blessings Nqo presents a unique fusion of traditional A cappella songs and Gospel tunes from Southern Africa. His songs have such topics as God, family, love, everyday struggles in Africa, and peace and respect between races. With his latest album Blessings sends a message to all nations "not to lose their way by forgetting their culture, because that`s where we get our strength from. " Nqo manages to marry what are normally viewed as naturally different stylings, African traditional music and Gospel. Influences come from far-and-wide; Dutch blues guitarist Hans Theessink makes an appearance, playing guitar, mandocello and harp on 'Isililo sentandane', in which an orphan is advised to seek comfort in God's arms. Blessings Nqo was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, and discovered his love for singing at an early age.
